Red is a massive colour for these upcoming seasons. I can guarantee you that every shop you enter you will more than likely find a red jumper. Red used to be very daring and still is, but as it is one of the latest trends, more people are wearing this colour and loving how bold it is. Any piece of clothing in red is definitely a statement piece. And to anyone who is afraid to wear something bold, embrace it and take the opportunity to stand out. It’s not quite the same as wearing red lipstick, as we all probably do, we put it on and then look in the mirror and go ‘nope’ and wipe it off haha.
I think it’s great that more of us are pushing the boat out and going slightly out of our comfort zones to wearing something we never normally would. Well I know that’s the case for me. I used to be so afraid of trying something new, or wearing a colour I’ve never worn before. My biggest fear was people staring at me and me not knowing what was going through their head. I was terrified that they were thinking negative thoughts about me, but when I actually think about it and think why am I letting it bother me, I soon learn not to care. I’m learning to realise that 99% of the time, I’m never going to meet these people again. So ‘so what’ if I’m wearing something that they don’t like, at least I like it.
And yes, wearing something red will get people staring at you. It’s just that type of colour that stands out and some people are too scared to wear it. But if you want to, then do it. Once wearing it, you’ll get used to people looking at you and surprisingly you’ll grow to not mind it. In someway, you could find it as a compliment. What I’m trying to say is that by wearing something that you normally would hesitate to because you feel like it is ‘too out there’ for you, please just try. Something so small like that really can help to increase confidence and make you feel so much better about yourself.
The lovely red jumper that I’m wearing is here. Obviously, I am in love with the colour, but I think the balloon sleeves are incredible. This is the first time that I’ve worn any kind of sleeve like this but I love it. It’s so different and really makes the jumper that little bit different than you bog standard knit.
I was kindly gifted this gorgeous black bag from Missy Empire. Link here. I am obsessed with bags that have a chain strap. At first I used to think that they were boarder line chavy but I’ve looked passed that now and really like them haha. With the one I’m wearing, you have to wear it has a double strap because if you just ‘one strapped’ it, it would be down to your knees. Not a look you want to go for. The reason I love this bag so much is because it is such a good dupe to the Gucci Dionysus bag! So if you’re not willing on spending £1,500 + then I think this bag is for you!
With the topic of red, Missy Empire also do the bag I’m wearing in a gorgeous red colour (here). It is to die for.
