Is it just me or has December just completely flown by?! It has been such a busy month that I have felt I didn’t even have time to sit down and do a blog post. I had a few festive posts I wanted to do – including fun things to do in Brighton and my xmas wish list but hey ho, always next year haha. As we haven’t really spoken much this month, I thought I would do a little round up of everything that I got up to to keep you updated. SO, to start things off, Eli and I bought our first Christmas Tree! If you follow me on my socials then you’ll know that Eli wanted a real one, but after several discussions we opted for an artificial. We got one which was only £55 on the Wilko website which in my opinion, is a bargain lol. I went a little crazy and bought A LOT of baubles but when it came to decorating, I soon came to the realisation that in fact I didn’t buy enough. I absolutely loved being able to decorate the flat how we wanted for Christmas.
Beginning of December my friend Jamie and I went to F.R.I.E.N.D.S Fest in London and it was great. I am a huge fan of F.R.I.E.N.D.S so I had a lot of fun taking all the pictures haha. Although I did really love it, a part of me was a little disappointed too as I felt there wasn’t really much to do afterwards. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t regret going, but we literally spent £37 to take photos in rooms that looked the same as the set haha.
I also worked on a second edit with Girl Knows All. During the summer I released a small edit of some items and it was really successful so they asked me if I wanted to do a part 2 and of course, I said yes. It launched mid December and by what I can tell, it is going pretty well!
My family also came down to visit which was the best thing ever. We went to this amazing sausage and mash place for dinner (it’s called Shakespeare’s Head) and it was delicious. We did a lot of mooching around the lanes and also all the touristy things you would normally do in Brighton. I felt like I hadn’t seen my fam in a while – especially my sister, so them coming down to visit was just what I needed! Oh before I forget, I also quit my job at Topshop. So that felt really strange but also so exciting that I get to do Instagram full time.
Unfortunately to being super busy in November and the family coming down, it meant that I was very late on starting my Christmas shopping. Normally I start it beginning of November and will be all done AND wrapped by beginning of December but this year, no no no haha. Although there is nothing wrong with doing it later, my god did I feel stressed. I think it was even harder this year because I really struggled to figure out what to actually get everyone so it took a lot of time scrolling through all the websites to find gifts that suited each person. But on the plus side, as I left Topshop, it meant that I could go back home (and I mean home home) to spend Christmas there and have a good 2-3 weeks with everyone. Majority of my Christmas shopping was all done online so luckily I could get it delivered back home but umm, I did have a few presents that I needed to travel back with and they were kinda big lol.
I was home for a good solid week before Christmas day so I entered the house of mayhem. Mum and Dad still had a lot of shopping to do and had a lot of presents to wrap, so seeing as I had all my gifts to wrap I cracked on and helped the parents out as well lol. I’m also pretty sure I watched four Christmas films that day haha. That week went very quick. I was meeting up with lots of people, trying to plan things in time for xmas day and then helping the fam out to get prepared. But Christmas day came and I think it was one of my favourites so far. One of our Christmas traditions is that Dad always cooks us poached eggs on toast for breakfast served with a bucks fizz. I also bought everyone matching socks for presents so that’s what I’m wearing with my trainers lol.
I hope you all had the most amazing Christmas and also a happy new year! ❤️
