When working in retail, it is very rare for me to get a saturday off. But today was my lucky day. We woke up super early, had breakfast in bed and got ready. As Eli and I only really see each other on weekends we always like to try and get out and actually do something instead of sitting indoors all day. So with sun shining, we took a little drive and went to Quarr Abbey. If no one is aware of what that is, it is a Monastery, and if no one knows what that is, it is a building where Monks live. We didn’t get to go inside because at the time I think they were praying so the doors were shut but we looked around the museum and at the building outside.
They had a really cute cafe with a large garden area which was perfect for a sunny day like today. Obviously Eli was hungry so we ordered skinny fries (which were so good) and a hot chocolate/latte. It was really quite a spectacular place. Even in the cafe garden, which was full of people, was still so quiet and peaceful. Sitting out in the sun, being surrounded by flowers and the birds tweeting was a moment where I forgot about all the shit in the world. The day was then followed on by charity shopping and more eating. But it was a perfect day to spend with my boy.
