It was getting to that time where my hair needed some TLC but I had no idea where to go or what to even get done. Perfect timing as some would say, I got a message from Live True London on Instagram asking if I would like to experience their services there. Of course without hesitation I automatically said yes.
You know when you go to the hairdressers and you have a picture on your phone of beautiful hair with big natural curls that you show the hairdresser, well this is the hairdressers that actually create that. Just by looking at Live True London’s Instagram feed (click here if you want to check it out) you can see they have people working there who just know what they are doing. I know that sounds rather silly but these hairdressers know hair so well, and they know how to do it well. I was a little nervous to walk in because it’s quite a cool well known hairdressers and I always find things like that intimidating. But soon as I arrived the staff were lovely and really welcoming. I also had a nice cup of tea and biscuits whilst waiting for my hairdresser.I had the lovely Claire do my hair (her Instagram here). We first spoke for about 15 minutes about what I wanted done and the different solutions. Basically the blonde in my hair was starting to go a little yellow but I was also a little sick of it so I wanted to be a bit darker and put more brown in my hair. She showed me the hair colour chart and explained all of her ideas so I understood what she was thinking.
This was probably one of the first times that I have sat in a hairdressers chair and not felt nervous. Just simply by Claire explaining what she was going to do put my mind at ease because I knew that I could trust her and that she knew what she was doing. We both decided that we were going to create a balayage look, using a cooler brown to try and match my root colour. With the little bit of blonde left in my hair, Claire talked me through that she was going to use a toner to try and eliminate the warmth/yellow tones and that she was going to use Olaplex to make it feel strong and healthy.
Claire started putting the brown colour on my hair. Now, I’ll be honest, I have a lot of hair. It may not be long but it’s really thick so I felt awful because Claire was doing it for a little while but during the time she was doing it, I did get another tea and biscuits. Another thing that I get nervous about in hairdressers is the small talk. There can be so much awkward silence and unnecessary conversations but I didn’t feel like that one bit. The whole time that we were talking, it felt that Claire was genuinely interested. I’ve been to several hairdressers before and the best way to describe it is that the chat can feel a bit dead sometimes if you get me? So it was actually really nice to not feel like that. I’m not kidding you when I say that I could have fallen asleep haha. I felt so relaxed and calm that I could have easily shut my eyes and drifted off to sleep. Once all of the brown colour was put on, I had to wait about thirty five minutes, so whilst that was cooking I had a catch up on twitter and flicked through some magazines. The brown colour then needed to be washed off, which was followed by the shampoo and conditioner being massaged into hair. Again, I could have fallen asleep whilst that was happening haha. The toner was then put on my hair which I had to let sit for about thirty minutes again and then Claire put the Olaplex on.
We then blow dried, straighten and curled my hair. My hair has honestly never looked so good haha. The fact I described what I wanted done and Claire achieved that with no problems just shows how experienced and professional that salon is. I put my hand on my heart when I say, in the future, I would only ever love to go to Live True London for my hair. Would 100% recommend.
