Quarantine life has hit hard and I can personally say that I am starting to go a little crazy. It’s funny how much I miss just walking into town and how much I didn’t appreciate the small things when we had no restrictions. With the majority of us feeling trapped inside, here are just a few things you can do to keep yourself busy.
P.s Don’t feel like you have to tick off everything on this list. Although we are at home a lot now and do have some extra time on our hands, don’t set yourself the pressure that you need to be productive every singe day. These ideas are just to help you incase you get bored.
~PAMPER YOURSELF~
Back in the days when we weren’t in lockdown, it was very rare for people to actually find the time to pamper themselves. BUT NOW WE HAVE THE TIME WOO. So whether you do a hair mask, paint your nails, face mask or giving your eyebrows a pluck, enjoy some quality pamper time.
~WORK ON YOUR CREATIVITY~
Finally get round to ordering those paints and practise on your art or maybe even buy some clay and experiment.
~DECLUTTER YOUR JUNK~
I’m talking about those drawers or cupboards that you shove all that unnecessary crap in. I have a tray on my shelf which is just full of old mail and receipts which desperately needs sorting out! Same with my cupboards, I’ve got wires, folders and books just thrown in there so I have no excuse for it to be a mess anymore.
~HOME BAKING~
Who would’ve thought that banana bread would be so popular!!! Although there is a task to buy any sort of flour in the supermarkets now, there is lots of other stuff you can still bake. Plus, it’s a great way to kill the time. {The picture on the left is Vegan Carrot Banana cake which Eli made. It was delicious. Recipe here}
~SPRING CLEAN~
Give your home that extra clean in all the nooks and crannies that you usually forget about! Pick up the duster, grab the hoover and maybe even get the mop out!
~FACETIME FRIENDS / FAMILY~
An obvious one but it’s a great way to spend your time and also boosts the mood.
~WARDROBE SORT OUT~
Sort your clothes out! We can all be guilty of hoarding clothes that we don’t really wear any more so go through it all and get ready for the new season.
~NAP~
I was debating whether to add this one in but I thought why not. Some people hate a nap and some people love it. It’s definitely a great way to pass the time!
~MOVIE TIME~
Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney + or even just good old DVDs – whack the blanket out and relax whilst watching a film! Eli and I are currently making out way through all the Marvel films on Disney +.
(Iron man is and always will be my fave!!)
~GET THE BODY MOVIN’~
A great way to lift your mood and make you feel ready for the day is by doing a little bit of exercise. Whether that is 10 minutes of cardio or even some yoga, it gets you up and gets you moving! If you are working from home as well then doing that little bit of exercise is a great way to turn off work mode and focus on something else for a little while.
~TIDY UP YOUR PHONE~
I am soooo guilty of having a messy phone. I have god knows how many unnecessary photos and so many old messages that could be deleted to help storage and make it more tidy. As tedious as it sounds, time flies by when you’re doing it!
~READ A BOOK~
We all have that book that we’ve always wanted to read but never got round to it. Well, now is your chance.
~SORT THROUGH YOUR BEAUTY PRODUCTS~
Unless you are extremely organised then you must have some super duper old make up items that you can’t remember where you got it from or when you last opened it. Declutter that make up bag and chuck out all the old items.
~CRACK OUT THE GAMES~
This could be board games, electronic games or a sudoku puzzle, anything that will keep you occupied!
~EXPERIMENT WITH NEW THINGS~
By experimenting I mean trying new make up looks each day, trying new hairstyles or wearing outfits that you wouldn’t normally put on. OR even try experimenting with DIY! I just ordered a tie dye kit and I also cut some old jeans up into some cute denim shorts!
~POP ON YOUR FAVE MUSIC AND DANCE~
Haha this is my favourite one. I’m the kind of person who’s mood is affected by music easily. When I feel glum, Eli always turns the bluetooth speaker on and plays my favourite songs. It’s amazing how much better it makes me feel, and I do normally end up breaking out a few dance moves lol.
