So of course the best way to get you in the Christmas mood is to watch Christmas films!!! I am going to list my choice of films which I think will get you feeling extra festive! So pop on your pyjamas, get a hot chocolate, grab some snacks and pop the TV on to find these films!
My number one favourite film is Fred Claus. If you haven’t seen it, it’s basically about Santa’s brother who comes up to visit and everything just goes wrong so cut the story short, the brother has to try and save the day. There is a part near the end of this film which is so beautiful and I end up crying every time I watch it. I mean every time!!! You’ve then got your classics – The Grinch (my Dad’s favourite), Elf, Polar Express and Santa Claus which will never get old. Arthur Christmas is my second favourite. I don’t know why but I feel like I relate to Arthur in way about how much he loves Christmas and wants to make everyone happy. It’s also one of those films where adults and kids can watch it because it’s got a both of the humours so it really is a great film to watch with the family.
You’ve then of course got The Holiday which is the most romantic lovely Christmas film out there. It makes you go all gushy because both characters fall in love and everyone loves love so it’s an easy watch. Lots of people like Love Actually but I absolutely hate that film so I am not going to talk about that one. Of course there is the Home Alone films! For me they don’t really make me feel that Christmassy but I know most people love them. Home Alone 2 is definitely the better one I think! I don’t really enjoy watching A Christmas Carol either but of course it is a Christmas film therefore it will be added to the list, I also cannot forget The Muppets version of A Christmas Carol. There is the Nativity films, Jingle All the Way and Deck the Halls which are all very good to get in the festive mood, and they are all very funny.
I’ve never seen Miracle on 34th Street. It’s quite old but I’ve heard that it’s a goof film. Jack Frost and The Snowman are two very good classics. I remember watching them both when I was a kid. I’ve listed over 15 Christmas films so please promise me something, you will watch at least one of them? 🎄
